Deezer and Apple Music install on Samsung and LG TVs

Music streaming platforms Deezer and Apple Music invest in televisions. The French online music service has just launched its new application on Samsung Smart TVs, while Apple’s is on LG connected TVs.

In full swing, the music streaming market is also played on the big screens. As video streaming services increase their prices, the battle rages between online music players. Everyone plays their part to stand out since Apple Music reshuffled the cards by offering spatial audio with Atmos and lossless at no extra cost. In addition to the price war, new features and access channels are multiplying and this also involves the television. Despite the presence of many screens (smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc.) in French daily life and the success of connected speakers, the television has remained essential in a multimedia installation since it became connected and intelligent.

Social networks like TikTok or music streaming platforms have not forgotten this and have decided to make a place for themselves. Deezer has just announced the launch of a new application for connected TVs from South Korean Samsung. The latter confirms that the application is now available on the Smart TV ranges from 2017 to 2021 and that it brings “Many features of the platform”. Users and subscribers will not be disoriented with the presence of Flow, the infinite mix of favorites or new recommendations accessible from a large screen. Deezer also evokes access to different playlists, in addition to artists, albums or titles. The application also emphasizes podcasts with the presence of a space dedicated to this growing category of content.

On compatible models, there is also the Lyrics function while HiFi subscribers can access FLAC quality.

LG TVs welcome Apple Music

At the same time, LG has confirmed the arrival of Apple Music on its televisions. The application is in fact accessible in the LG Content Store for models equipped with WebOS 4.0 or more recent, i.e. most televisions launched since 2018. This decision confirms Apple’s strategy to make its services accessible to as many people as possible, and not just Apple TV owners. The Californian group had already worked with manufacturers, including LG, to offer AirPlay and Apple TV on many televisions.

The arrival of Apple Music is therefore the logical continuation and LG promises the presence of the main functionalities such as access to titles, playlists, video clips in 4K, Apple Music Radio. The application also offers the synchronized display of lyrics for “Millions of tires”. Note that it is even possible to subscribe to the service from your television.
