During its Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 conference, Samsung unveiled customizable versions of the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Watch 4. A preview of One UI 4 was also shown.

Third major event of the week, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 did not have as many surprises in store as Apple’s keynote or Google’s Pixel 6 conference. The Galaxy S21 FE was conspicuous by its absence, but the shortage of components did not prevent Samsung from presenting a few new features.

The South Korean giant wants to stand out and has lifted the veil on the Bespoke Edition (tailor-made version) of the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Watch4. The latest products from the South Korean manufacturer will be able to be personalized with new color combinations: in total, Samsung claims a range of 49 possible associations, giving the possibility of changing the color of the frame (black or silver) and the front panels. and back (blue, yellow, pink, white and black). Before launching, the brand claims to have studied current trends and tested “Thousands of color options”.

Samsung’s folding smartphone and its connected watch under One UI Watch are affected. To benefit from these customization elements, it will nevertheless be necessary to add 50 euros compared to the launch price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 (256 GB). As a reminder, this folding clamshell smartphone was launched in August and is priced at 1,109 euros in its 256 GB version.

On the sidelines of this event, the South Korean group announced a collaboration with the Franco-Japanese brand Maison Kitsuné. It gives birth to a special edition of the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Buds2 headphones. “The Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition are the result of the meeting between the latest technologies in the ecosystem of connected objects Galaxy from Samsung and Maison Kitsuné, which is both one of the fashion brands and one of of the most emblematic music labels of the moment ”, explains Stephanie Choi, senior vice president and global marketing manager for the Samsung Mobile division.

The watch will be entitled to a bracelet Moonrock Beige bearing a fox-shaped hallmark, with the possibility of changing for a second gray bracelet with the Maison Kitsuné lettering. As for the wireless headphones, they also benefit from this beige color and are protected in a leather case decorated with the logo of the fashion brand. The right earpiece features the iconic fox head and the left ear cup features its tail. The characteristics are similar to the original model, but owners of one of these products will be able to access a special playlist.

Samsung announces that the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition and the Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition will be released in France from November 8. This is not the first time that the brand has offered this type of operation, as evidenced by the launch of the Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy Buds + BTS Edition last year.

One UI 4.0 shows itself

The Samsung event finally allowed the One UI 4 interface, based on Android 12, to show off. The first images did not reveal any major upheavals, but they do confirm that the operating system emphasizes personalization. The smartphone giant will also offer new emojis and features. An Extra Dim mode will reduce the brightness beyond what the smartphone can offer and Photo Remaster will give the possibility of accentuating the colors of the shots.
